Will Miller, president of the Wallace Foundation, announced a six-year, $75-million initiative to help six urban school districts develop a much larger corps of school principals who can effectively lead schools and meet new performance standards. One of these districts, Prince George’s County (MD) Public Schools, will use the Executive Development Program for School Leaders to train 125 high-quality principals. The training will position the district to develop the capacity to replace retiring school leaders with graduates of the high-quality program.

With this engagement, NISL is developing a better curriculum for principals, and working with Bowie State University and the University of Maryland University College to redesign their educational leadership training programs.
